Marilyn Maye holds the record of appearances on the Johnny Carson show-76 times. He called her "Super Singer." Wall Street Journal said, "When going to hear Marilyn Maye, you'll find on one side of the room are the Broadway and cabaret people, who tend to like their singing big and theatrical, with a lot of drama and stage presence. On the other side is the jazz crowd, who want everything hip and cool and understated, and will split the scene if anything doesn't swing. Ms. Maye is the only pop-song diva working today who can satisfy both crowds at once. Ms. Maye's RCA recording of Cabaret (she recorded it before the Broadway show opened) became an instant hit and her RCA "Lamp Is Low" album is considered a timeless classic. For five consecutive years, since 2009, she has received the "Celebrity of the Year" award from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs. In January, 2013 she received the "Legend" award from New York's Nightlife Critics Association. marilynmaye.com
