The Nash to Feature The Baylor Project, Graham Dechter Quartet, and More in November

Phoenix's renowned jazz club packs it in for November, bringing several of jazz's hottest acts to downtown. This month, guitarist Graham Dechter and his All-Star Quartet arrive Nov. 11th, while the renowned drummer Marcus Baylor teams up with wife Jean for their Phoenix debut. The couple will perform The Baylor Project, including selections from their new album, The Journey, on Nov. 15th.

The live jazz club also features a wide array of jazz styles, jam sessions, lectures and matinee shows to appeal to all tastes and ages. Additional highlights include a jazz exploration of The Beatles "Revolver" album on Nov 24th and Jazz & Jokes on Nov 16th.
The Nash is located at 110 E. Roosevelt St on Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix.

Drummer Dave Potter is quickly becoming known as a formidable musician. He resides in Atlanta, where he maintains a busy teaching and performing schedule while also touring the globe as a member of The Jason Marsalis Vibes Quartet. He is touring to promote his debut CD, You Already Know, released on the Summit label.

JeAnne Newhall is rooted in change. As a vocalist, a composer of words and music, and a classically trained pianist, Newhall has always had a passion for new experiences and the fresh directions they can bring.
As a saxophonist Mary Petrich has been performing professionally and teaching since the age of 18. Although classically trained, the spontaneity and freedom of jazz has emerged as the driving force in her musical career.

From the mid-1970s through the early 90s, Francine reigned as the most popular jazz and blues vocalist in the Valley. In fact, she was still winning New Times/Best of Phoenix awards after she moved to Atlanta! Francine appeared with her bands Jazz Alive and Fever at venues such as The Boojum Tree, Chuy's and Chuy's Next Door/The Night Club, Churchill's Pub and Bombay Bicycle Club, plus numerous festivals and concert halls. She has been part of Lyle Lovett's Large Band since the mid 80's, appeared on The Tonight Show, and appeared for many seasons in Seattle's high-energy dinner-theatre cabaret, Teatro ZinZanni. What an amazingly diverse and exciting career!

A kaleidoscopic view of the great record, taking the audience to unexplored aspects of the songs from "Revolver" - the 1966 classic Beatles recording. Highlights include: a drum-and-bass version of 'Eleanor Rigby', an avant-garde jazz version of 'Yellow Submarine'; and a harmonically-dense ballad of 'And Your Bird Can Sing' reminiscent of the music Bill Evans.
