Photo Flash: Sneak Peek at Theater Works' FRANKENSTEIN, Opening Today the 13th!

Director Chris Hamby summarized what he wanted to bring to Frankenstein in one word: verisimilitude. He directed the cast and crew to create a production that was above all else, believable - no camp, no "steampunk," he wanted this Frankenstein to feel real.

Not wanting to give anything away about what or how anything happens in the show (or just how many special effects occur), we will share this detail that illustrates Chris Hamby's profound respect for Mary Shelley's story about playing God: in this production, when the Creature comes to life - the scene is played slowly, with time to unfold organically. This show is exciting, intense, and unnerving!

There are stories behind-the-scenes that make this production standout as well. The actors playing "Victor Frankenstein" and "Henry Clerval" are best friends onstage and off. Adam Cantrell, who plays the "Creature," is making a return to acting after a few years away and has loved getting back to his craft. Cellist Wesley Skinner has composed an original score for the show and will play it live. Audiences are in for an emotional ride with this gothic masterpiece!
