Theater Works KIDS ALIVE program is proud to produce one of the finest operettas of all time!!! Young and older alike will love this youthful presentation of HMS PINAFORE! Come see kids of all ages portray the story of Ralph, a sailor aboard the ship HMS Pinafore, who falls in love with Captain Corcoran's daughter, Josephine, even though he is way below her rank - which Dick Deadeye, the surliest sailor on the Captain's ship, relishes in pointing out. Performing on Tuesday, May 17th and Monday, May 23rd at 7 p.m. tickets are only $5 at the door. A performance for Special Needs patrons will be held on Friday, May 20th at 10 a.m. and a donation of $2/person is requested.

Song writing teams have always been the "apples of the eye" of the musical theater public. And among these talented pairs, none was ever dearer in their time (1870's) than William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. Affectionately known as "G&S", these two were made for each other. Gilbert was an English humorist and Sullivan a "Knighted" composer. Pinafore was their third work presented in 1878. It was an instant hit! Although the political satire of HMS PINAFORE pertains specifically to Victorian, England, the plays wit and good-natured fun poking at official pompousness still delight audiences today.

Tickets will be on sale at the door at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. The Box Office is open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily and may be reached at 623-815-7930 to answer any questions. HMS PINAFORE performs on Tuesday, May 17th and Monday, May 23rd at 7 p.m. and Friday, May 20th at 10 a.m. Tickets for the evening performances are only $5.00 / person. For the performance for Special Needs patrons on May 20th a donation of $2.00 / person is requested. Theater Works is located in the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts (the theater with the copper roof) at 8355 W Peoria Avenue, Peoria.
