Desert Stages Theatre Announces 2018-2019 Season Lineup

Desert Stages Theatre (DST) announces the lineup for the 2018-2019 season at their new location in Scottsdale Fashion Square. The lineup includes Broadway classics, iconic holiday musicals and youth plays which will be performed on both the intimate Actors Café stage and the Mainstage at the DST location.

On the Mainstage

The Mainstage will feature the classic Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan musical, "Young Frankenstein," right in time for Halloween. The new season will also bring the Seth Rudetsky musical comedy, "Disaster!," an homage to classic 1970's disaster films. "Disaster!" will be directed by Max Crumm, one of the original stars of the Broadway musical and a former DST actor. In the spring, the Broadway classic, "Oliver!," based on the Charles Dickens novel "Oliver Twist," will make its debut.

On the Actors Café stage

The intimate Actors Café stage will feature holiday performances such as the rarely performed play "The Bad Seed" during the Halloween season and "A Christmas Story: The Play," based on the classic Christmas film. The season will also include the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play, "Death of a Salesman" and more.

Youth and Teen Shows

The 2018-2019 season will incorporate seven youth and teen shows such as "Bye Bye Birdie," "Mary Poppins Jr.," "Legally Blonde: The Musical," "All Shook Up" and more with actors ranging in age from three to twenty-two-years-old.
