Ballet Arizona to Present Rags to Riches Timeless Tale of CINDERELLA

Ballet Arizona is thrilled to dazzle audiences of all ages, telling the enchanting fairytale of Cinderella at Symphony Hall, Feb. 15-18, 2018. The last performance of this classic show by Ballet Arizona was in 2013. The Phoenix Symphony will elevate the performances with live accompaniment at all six shows.

The beautiful heroine's wish and a dream come to life onstage among beautiful sets, amusing moments of humor, and a handsome prince to create a wonderful family night out. "For Ballet Arizona's 2018 production of Cinderella, we are thrilled to announce that eight brand new tutus are being handmade specifically for this show. This is a big undertaking requiring months and months of work. We can't wait for our audience to see these beautiful new costumes on stage," said Samantha Turner, Ballet Arizona's Executive Director.

As if stepping between the pages of the beloved storybook, Artistic Director Ib Andersen's Cinderella brings the romantic story to life, vividly delighting patrons with the beauty and majesty of classical ballet, wrapped in the promise of "happily ever after," and generously sprinkled with a wonderful dose of humor. Ballet Arizona's production was heralded by The New York Times as "telling the Cinderella story with compelling human detail".

Ballet Arizona will present six performances of Cinderella from February 15-29 at Symphony Hall in Phoenix. Ticket prices start at $25, with discounts offered for seniors, students, military, and groups. Tickets can be purchased by calling 602-381-1096 or by visiting www.balletaz.org.

Ballet Arizona, approaching its 32nd season, is dedicated to preserving and celebrating classical dance while creating new and innovative works. Under the artistic direction of internationally acclaimed choreographer Ib Andersen - a former Principal Dancer with The New York City Ballet and The Royal Danish Ballet - Ballet Arizona follows his lead to the future of dance in Arizona. The School of Ballet Arizona, under the direction of Carlos Valcárcel, promotes access to the art form of ballet through dance education, with a focus on excellence in the form, directing each student to a life-long love of dance. Following this vision, Ballet Arizona connects to more than 35,000 children and families every year through its free and low cost outreach programs.
