Arizona Theatre Company celebrates its 44th season on Saturday, April 30 with CURTAIN UP CABARET 2011, an exclusive onstage experience at the Herberger Theater Center. ATC hosts an intimate cabaret performance featuring Broadway's Susan Egan, star of Beauty and the Beast, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Cabaret. Ms. Egan will perform in concert with Christopher McGovern, co-conceiver of Backwards in High Heels and the Musical Director of ATC's Hair, Pajama Game and [title of show].

Co-chairs for Curtain Up Cabaret 2011 are ATC Circles members Sally Lehmann and Range Shaw.

The evening begins at 6 PM with hors d'oeuvres and champagne in the Herberger Art Gallery. Guests will then be escorted to Arizona Theatre Company's professional stage to enjoy an elegant dinner, followed by a private performance with Broadway headliner Susan Egan, accompanied by Christopher McGovern. The performance will be followed by a decadent coffee and dessert bar.

The evening includes a live auction fundraiser offering the chance to win several luxury items including a Dancing with the Stars package which provides airfare to and from Los Angeles, front row seats at a taping of the popular television show, premium hotel accommodations and limousine transportation to the taping.

Susan Egan has traversed all four corners of the entertainment industry, making powerful impressions in theatre, film, television and music. She headlined on Broadway as Thoroughly Modern Millie, won critical acclaim as Broadway's (longest-running) "Sally Bowles" in Cabaret, starred in Triumph of Love and State Fair, and received Tony Award and Drama Desk nominations for "Best Actress" as the original "Belle" in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. She's been seen on film in 13 Going on 30, Gotta Kick It Up, countless independents and voiced the animated characters of "Meg" in Disney's Hercules, and "Lin" in the Academy Award-winning Spirited Away, among others. She spent two seasons on WB's Nikki and guest-starred on HOUSE, NUMB3RS, NYPD Blue, Arli$, Drew Carey, Party of Five, Great Performances, and more. Egan sings with symphonies worldwide, has over 40 recording credits including five solo CDs, and was named Best Vocalist of the Year by TalkinBroadway.com. Entertainment Weekly calls her website, susanegan.net, the "slickest site around."

Proceeds will benefit Arizona Theatre Company's education and community engagement programs to further the company's mission of producing professional theatre as well as serving as an educational and cultural resource in the state.
