A CHRISTMAS CAROL to Return to TheaterWorks This December

As the Holiday MasterWorks installment, we proudly resurrect our original production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, adapted by Richard Powers Hardt and directed by Chris Hamby. See this ghostly retelling of the legendary transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge as he is led by three mysterious Christmas apparitions on a journey of self-redemption and true rediscovery.

Although a beloved story for over one hundred years, what many people do not know is that it was not the aspiration of Charles Dickens to write the holiday classic we have all grown to love, but instead a ghost story. In staging the production, Chris Hamby sought to depict the authors original intentions. "For audiences to fully understand and appreciate Scrooge's redemption," he says "they must first see the dark side."

Incorporating everything that is TheaterWorks, the production will feature not only a cast of both adult and youth actors, but will also incorporate fantastic puppetry in the retelling of the story.

A Christmas Carol will play December 8-24 in the Gyder Theater. See below for showtimes and to purchase tickets:
