Ateneo Blue Repertory (blueREP), one of Manila's most active school-based musical theatre organizations, presents Off-Broadway comedy ZANNA, DON'T (a musical fairy tale) from February 17 to March 6, 2010 at the Rizal Mini Theatre, Ateneo de Manila University campus.

The musical, which features music and lyrics by Tim Acito, and book and additional lyrics by Alexander Dinelaris, takes place in a topsy-turvy world where homosexuals rule; and where heterosexuals battle against anti-straight prejudices.

Set at Heartsville High School, ZANNA, DON'T follows the story of Zanna, a teen fairy matchmaker, and the chaos that breaks loose when a boy falls in love with a girl.  The musical is told from an unusual point of view, which allows the audience to experience love and relationships in a different situation.

ZANNA, DON'T had its early performances at the Theater Row in New York City in 2002.  It officially opened Off-Broadway at the John Houseman Theater in 2003.

The musical ran 17 previews and 119 performances, starring Jai Rodriguez as Zanna.

The New York production received Drama Desk nominations for Best Musical, Best Book, Best Music, and Best Lyrics.

ZANNA, DON'T also opened in London just last year, starring Mike Shearer as Zanna.

"This show has a genuine spring in its step. It is lighthearted, tuneful and thoroughly good fun, delivered by a young, zesty cast of 12, who dance and sing for all they are worth." - Whatsonstage.com London

blueREP's ZANNA, DON'T is directed by Carelle Mangaliag and RR Herrera, with musical direction by Felix Rivera ("Avenue Q," "Spelling Bee") and Pauline Gaerlan ("All Shook Up," "tick, tick...Boom!").
