MISS SAIGON Germany’s Stephanie Reese will perform at the Carnegie Hall in New York City on November 7, 2009.  Reese, who is part Filipino, is the third Filipino solo performer, after pop singer Regine Velasquez and Broadway star Lea Salonga, to sing at the famed concert hall.

Apart from essaying Kim in MISS SAIGON, Reese has performed Esmeralda in the Disney World Premiere of HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME in Germany, Princess Tuptim in KING AND I in London, and Sophie and Sharon in MASTER CLASS in Los Angeles.

Upon her return to the U.S., she toured the West Coast with an autobiographical one-woman show called THE JOURNEY, which she wrote, directed and produced.  She has since been booked to perform in the other parts of the U.S., Canada, France, Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, and the Philippines.

Reese, who was born and raised in Seattle, has earned the moniker STANDING OVATION QUEEN from fans and industry insiders in the U.S.  She performs a diverse repertoire of Broadway, Opera, ballads, pop, Filipino “kundiman,” and even hip-hop.

She has so far released two albums – “The Voice” and “Stephanie Reese At Her Best.”

For her Carnegie Hall appearance, Reese is donating the proceeds to the Gawad Kalinga Foundation for the homeless, the Philippine equivalent of Habitat for Humanity. She wants to build a village for 30 poor Filipino families.

Reese studied opera at Indiana University, and at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music for Musical Theater. She was a dedicated student of the late vocal coach Eileen Manzin of Juilliard.

Reese’s Carnegie Hall repertoire features cabaret, opera, Broadway, and original songs. Tickets are $75-$135 and are available starting September 9, 2009 by telephone at Carnegie Charge (212) 247-7800 or online at www.carnegiehall.org.
