This April, Newtown Arts Company invites audiences to find their corner of the sky with Pippin at the Newtown Theatre from April 16th to the 19th!
With a book by Roger O. Hirson along with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and The Prince of Egypt), Pippin is the story of one young man’s journey to be extraordinary. Guided by a mysterious troupe of performers and led by the eerily charismatic Leading Players, Pippin explores various paths, including war, political power, love, and the simple life. Each venture leaves him increasingly unsatisfied, pushing him to discover what truly makes life meaningful. Does he follow in the footsteps of his father, one of the most powerful men in the land? Or does he strike out on his own, to find his own “corner of the sky.”
This production is directed by Michael Fortna, music directed by Michael Wisnosky, choreographed by Erin Ryan and produced by Lisa Reiser & Beth Seffrin. Taking center stage are Blue Colacchio & Sierra Elise as The Leading Players, who guide Pippin (played by Liam
Sullivan) along through this journey.
The production is rated PG-13 due to adult themes - some material may not be suitable for
children.
Performances run Thursday, April 16th and Friday, April 17th at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, April 18th at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, April 19th at 2:00 p.m. at the Newtown Theatre, located in the heart of historic Newtown Borough.
Join us and find your corner of the sky!
