The Town and Country Players present their second comedy of the season, Ken Ludwig's Lend Me A Tenor, directed by Keith Soester and produced by Sharon Rill, opening on June 25 and running for 3 weekends through July 10, at their venue in Buckingham.

This high energy farce is set in 1934 as the world famous tenor Tito Merelli, better known as "Il Stupendo", is about to perform "Otello" at the season opener of the Cleveland Grand Opera. Through a series of mishaps, the evening speeds into absurdity when Il Stupendo passes out from a tranquilizer; the plot twists and turns as the company tries to cover up the fact that their mega-star won't be singing. A three-time Tony winner when it opened in 1989, and currently enjoying a Tony nominated revival in NYC, Lend Me A Tenor is classic farce replete with rapid-fire banter, mistaken identity, slamming doors, slapstick "muscular comedy" and naughty innuendo. The show's been described as "the farciest farce since farce came to Farceville".

Performance dates/times are June 25, 26, July 2, 3, 9 and 10 at 8pm and June 27 at 3pm. Ticket prices are $15. Performances are at the Town and Country Players Theater, 4158 York Road (Rte. 263), Buckingham. The opening night reception (June 25th) is catered by Chambers 19 Bistro and Bar, Doylestown.
