Totem Pole Playhouse continues its 60th anniversary celebration as Wil Love joins Ray Ficca in Unnecessary Farce, July 27 - August 8.

Wil Love has enjoyed an extraordinary career on the stage. He has performed in over 250 productions in theatres from coast to coast, including Seattle Repertory Theatre, St. Louis Repertory Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Syracuse Stage, Philadelphia's Walnut Street Theatre, the Kennedy Center, and Baltimore's Center Stage. He served for 25 years as the Associate Artistic Director of the Playhouse. He is now a company member at Everyman Theatre in Baltimore. No matter where his career has taken him, Love has managed to return to Totem Pole Playhouse for 40 consecutive seasons.

On July 27th, Love will take to the great stage at Totem Pole once again in Paul Slade Smith's hilarious comedy Unnecessary Farce as the quiet and unassuming Mayor Meekly. Written in the style and spirit of such great farces as Lend Me A Tenor, the play takes place in two adjoining hotels rooms, where two amateur cops try to stage a sting operation to expose local politicos in a tangled web of corruption and double-dealing.

Playhouse Artistic Director, Ray Ficca, had Love in mind for his role when he chose the 2010 season over a year ago. "Wil is a tremendous actor and a master at farce. With all the great actors I know, I simply could not see anyone else playing this role at Totem Pole. I can't even imagine a Totem Pole season without Wil." Ficca will join Love onstage in this production for the first time in three years. The two last shared the stage in 2007, performing Neil Simon's Proposals.

Joining Ficca & Love on stage will be Shirleyann Kaladjian, who has appeared in over 10 Totem Pole productions. Rounding out the cast are Larry Dahlke, Dustin Loomis, Jenna Sokolowski and Marsha Waterbury. Jeremy Skidmore serves as the guest director. Skidmore has served as Artistic Director of Theatre Alliance in DC where he has produced 22 productions in five years that garnered 22 Helen Hayes nominations. Erin Nugent serves as the Costume designer and Matt Nielsen joins the company for his first year as sound designer. James Fouchard, resident scenic designer will design his 4th show of the 60th anniversary season.

The post show discussion where the audience joins the cast & crew after the curtain rings down is scheduled for Friday, August 6th.

The Orchards of Chambersburg serves as guest sponsor for Unnecessary Farce which runs from July 27 - August 8.

The world premiere of The Coward and The Glory continues until July 25th and is sponsored by F & M Trust.

Ruthless! The Musical runs from August 10 - 22 and is sponsored by Patriot Federal Credit Union.

A special post-season presentation of Late Nite Catechism from August 25 - 29 is sponsored by M & T Bank.
