The Philly POPS To Perform In Three Upcoming Shows At The Met Philadelphia

Tickets are currently on sale for three new performances in The Philly POPS at the Met Philadelphia series: Disney's The Nightmare Before Christmas, A Philly POPS Uptown Christmas, and Disney's Broadway Hits.

Disney's The Nightmare Before Christmas Live to Film

October 24 and 25, 2019, 7:30 p.m.

The iconic Hollywood Halloween tradition comes to Philly as The Philly POPS and Live Nation present two performances of Disney's The Nightmare Before Christmas, Live To Film at the Met Philadelphia.

In a nod to the Hollywood Bowl's productions of Tim Burton's masterpiece, The Philly POPS will perform the film's classic score alongside the original film. Everyone is invited to attend in costume; Tim Burton-themed costumes are especially encouraged.

This performance will be the POPS' first live-to-film concert-made possible by the Met Philadelphia's state-of-the-art audio and video equipment. This concert is part of The Philly POPS at the Met Philadelphia concert series, which brings innovative programming and contemporary artists to the Met Philadelphia's newly-restored stage.

A Philly POPS Uptown Christmas

November 29, 2019 8 p.m. and December 1, 2019 3 p.m.

Philly's favorite holiday tradition jumps into the season with an exciting new twist! This year, the POPS makes its Christmas debut at The Met Philadelphia in A Philly POPS Uptown Christmas.

These two special performances will star Mandy Gonzalez and an incredible soon-to-be-announced R&B guest artist, conducted by Principal Guest Conductor David Charles Abell. The performance will also feature another POPS fan-favorite-The African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas Gospel Choir.

Disney's Broadway Hits

April 4 and 5, 2020, 3 p.m.

Disney's treasured classics have made an indelible mark on the Broadway stage with hits like Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid. For over two decades, Disney's Broadway adaptations have charmed audiences around the world.

Now, The Philly POPS brings Disney's trademark magic to the Met Philadelphia in this Spring Break program, featuring world-class Broadway performers, including original Disney Broadway talent.

Outside the concert hall, free Salute Series performances - including Memorial Salute, July 3 POPS on Independence, July 4 POPS on the Parkway and the I'll Be Home for Christmas: A Salute to the Military and First Responders concert - celebrate the American tradition of service around important national holidays. POPS in Schools enhances music education for 3,000 Philadelphia School District students; and POPS Outside brings POPS music to local communities. The Philly POPS performs as a founding resident company of The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, as the Principal Orchestra of the Met Philadelphia, and at venues throughout the mid-Atlantic region
