The Media Theatre's Artistic Director Jesse Cline recently announced the upcoming 2010-11 Broadway Series Season, which begins in October with Frank Wildhorn's "Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical".

The holidays find "Annie" singing her triumphant anthem of hope on the State Street stage, followed by Jason Robert Brown's "The Last Five Years". Classic rock and roll mingled with serious subject matter will bring the season to a close with "The Who's Tommy".

"Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical" plays September 29-October 31. With Frank Wildhorn's popular score which includes the memorable song "This Is The Moment", the morality tale which encompasses the epic battle between good and evil does so with the twist Robert Louis Stevenson created with his classic novel-the battle takes place within and because of one Dr. Jekyll whose medical experiment gives life to his alter ego Mr. Hyde. The musical is not without its touch of romance as one streetwise woman, Lucy, becomes involved with the dual personality. She sings another extremely popular song, "

Someone Like You". The show played on Broadway at the Plymouth Theatre for 4 years, becoming the longest running show in that theatre's history. "Annie" will brighten the holidays as the sun comes out each "Tomorrow" from November 23-January 16. Based on the classic "Little Orphan Annie" comic strip, an orphan is placed in the limelight as Oliver Warbucks tries out a publicity campaign without realizing he may actually come to adore Annie and learn a few things about himself.

Jason Robert Brown's contemporary musical that chronicles the five year life of a marriage, "The Last Five Years" is an intensely personal look at a relationship on The Media Theatre stage February 9-27, 2011. A novelist and an actress each tell their version of the story, one from the beginning of the relationship and one from the end. The characters only interact directly with a wedding song as the two time-lines connect. The musical is based on Brown's own failed marriage.

From March 30-May 22, Pete Townshend's classic rock and roll brings "The Who's Tommy" to life. A young boy's journey from pain to triumph, the show contains several of the biggest hits of all time including "Pinball Wizard" and "See Me, Feel Me". The winner of the Tony Award for Best Score in
1993, the year the classic rock album finally made it to the Broadway stage as a fully produced musical.
