Mozart Festival Opera performs the State Theatre's annual opera with Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, complete with a host of vivid, funny characters and energetic music. Powered by a strong ensemble cast, The Marriage of Figaro also features a live orchestra and will be performed in the original Italian with projected sub titles.
Mozart Festival Opera made its U.S. debut in November 2003with a lavish, new production of DON GIOVANNI at the Naples Philharmonic Center, in Florida. Since then the company has completed 3 additional major U.S. tours with DON GIOVANNI, DI ZAUBERFLOTE and LE NOZZE DI FIGARO. The mission of the new company is to provide a touring opera showcase for singers living in the US and Europe. All of the soloists are professionals who have performed major roles with important international opera companies such as the Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg, the New York City Opera, Lithuanian National Opera, the Metropolitan Opera the Prague State Opera, Sofia National Opera and others.
