Stephanie C. Kernisan Stars In BAD SEX AND OTHER PROBLEMATIC ANALOGIES

Stephanie C. Kernisan aka Yitzhak of Philly's 20th Anniversary Production of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" has a new solo show: "Bad Sex And Other Problematic Analogies"

Friday, April 5, 2019 at 8 PM
at the Rotunda, 4014 Walnut Street in Philadelphia. Tickets are $15 at badsex.bpt.me.

Alternatively titled "confessions of an unintentionally white-passing, mixed, fat, queer, feminist, switchy witch", "Bad Sex and Other Problematic Analogies" explores heartache and healing with humor and humility. This show is part essay reading, part stand-up routine, part musical event written and performed by Stephanie C. Kernisan.

Stephanie C. Kernisan is a writer and entertainer working out of the Greater Philadelphia Area. Originally from North Carolina, she identifies as a queer southern belle or a genderless alien sex goddess.

Stephanie began creating and performing at a very young age. She grew up in Wilmington, NC and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BA in Media Studies: Film & Video production in December 2010. Her big aspirations moved her to New York in 2011 and to Philadelphia in 2013.

Some of her more notable performances include Yitzhak in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Eddie/Dr. Scott in the Rocky Horror Show, and Sweet in Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Once More with Feeling.

She co-hosts a weekly podcast with Sarah Heddins called Deadtime Storiez (available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Stitcher, and SoundCloud).

"Bad Sex & Other Problematic Analogies" is Stephanie's first one woman show and is also the title of her upcoming essay collection currently in works for publication.
