The non-profit State Theatre Center for the Arts in Easton is reaching out to the community for support with a year end gift campaign, and this year's request comes with a very specific mission in mind - and opportunity for the community to be part of a true legacy of the theatre. Funds from this year's annual campaign will go towards purchasing a new stage curtain for the historic theatre.

"The bad news is that we need a new curtain, and they are expensive," say President & CEO Shelley Brown. "The good news is that so many fabulous shows have used this curtain that it is just worn out!"

The present main stage curtain was purchased in 1986 and has seen its share of legendary superstars, Broadway hits and 11 years of FREDDY© students. At a distance, it appears to be in good condition, but with closer inspection deterioration is evident. In 2010, part of the curtain tore under its own weight.

The goal for the Curtain Call Campaign is $45,000 and plans are in place for a Spring 2014 rising.

Tax Deductible Contributions can be made to: State Theatre Curtain Call Campaign, 453 Northampton Street, Easton, PA 18042 or online at www.statetheatre.org.
