Second Annual Hope & Healing Juried Art Show Set for 2/23-4/5
The Second Annual Hope & Healing Juried Art Show for High School Students will take place February 23 – April 5 at the State Theatre Center for the Arts, Brown-Daub Gallery, in Easton, PA. A free Opening Reception will be February 23, 5:30-7:00pm. A fundraising Reception with Awards Ceremony and Silent Auction will be held on April 5th from 5:30 – 8:30pm. The State Theatre is located at 453 Northampton St, Easton, PA 18042. Visit www.HTTA.org/art-show to view all open gallery times.
The purpose of the art show is to enable a younger generation of artists to create beautiful, inspiring pieces for patients to view as they recuperate in local hospital rooms and to illustrate the connection between art and healing. High school art teachers in the Lehigh Valley were notified of the opportunity to participate and registered their schools. The students have created art that inspires Hope & Healing, which is donated after the art show, to any hospital in our community to place in patient rooms or treatment areas. The nine high schools planning to participate include: Easton, Emmaus, Liberty (Bethlehem), Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School, Moravian Academy, Nazareth, Parkland, Upper Perkiomen, and Whitehall Coplay.
The art show is the mission of Healing Through The Arts (www.HTTA.org) which is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit.
This project helps change the quality of health and healing beginning at the patient and caregiver level as well as supporting the talents of young artists in our community.
