The Players Club of Swarthmore Theater continues its Second Stage season with The Coming World, by Christopher Shinn, opening January 20th

Ed’s life is headed off the tracks, and his girlfriend Dora gives him a dose of very tough love to protect herself and perhaps wake him up. But that decision brings some unintended consequences. In dealing with those effects, Dora is drawn to Ed’s twin brother in the play’s haunting second half. The Independent in London has  called it,  “Frightening, sensual, and moving… Shinn has a delicate touch.”

Director Diane Davis of Havertown needed to find a pair of strong performers to take on this demanding and emotional script. She cast David DelBianco of Philadelphia and Lena Mucchetti of Bear, DE to fill the bill.

The Coming World performs on The Players Club of Swarthmore's Raymond W. Smith Second Stage: January 20,-21, 27-29 and February 3-4. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 8:00pm, and Sunday's matinee begins at 2:00pm. Admission is $10 at the door.

The Players Club is located at 614 Fairview Road, just off of route 320, only minutes from I-95 and Route 476. There is plenty of free off-street parking. For those taking public transit, the R3 Regional Rail line is less than a mile from The Players Club, at The Edge of the Swarthmore College Campus.
