Pig Iron Theatre Co Hosts PIGADILLY CIRCUS

By:

Pig Iron's annual blowout cabaret and auction fundraiser continues to grow in stature in the former colonial metropolis of Philadelphia. Last year a record-breaking number of screaming fans stuffed themselves into close quarters with near strangers to experience an evening of jaw-droppingly diverse performances and entertainments. With acts ranging from perfectly precise South Indian hip hop fusion dance to high-flying feats of aerial derring-do, last year's event illustrated that great metaphor of America as melting pot.

While this celebration was more successful than we ever dreamed, this year we decided to celebrate our forebears across the pond with a gala event stuffed to bursting with Britishisms. We cannot emphasize enough the high calibre of the programme in store for you at this event, and we invite one and all to join us in raising funds and awareness about Philadelphia's favorite OBIE-winning ensemble theatre company. Pigadilly Circus will be held at the Trocadero Theatre, 1003 Arch Street, on Friday, January 21, 2010. Our silent auction will begin at 7:00pm, and the show starts at 8:00pm. Tickets are a measly $25 until the day of the show, (they'll be $30 on January 21.) $75 preferred-seating tickets and $600 tables for 6 are also available. For tickets or additional information, please call 215-627-1883 or visit www.pigiron.org.

As always, this annual parade of Pig Iron company members, friends, and associates will be emceed by Quinn Bauriedel. Frequently interrupting him will be Miss Martha Graham-Cracker and her band, augmented with an octet of backup singers who may or may not be dressed as Buckingham Palace Guards. Also on hand will be

· The gravity-defiant dancers of VINCE JOHNSON/illREALITY

· That sleazy singing sot, JOHNNY SHOWCASE

· GABRIELLE REVLOCK and her Hypnotic Hula Hoops

· The astounding Peking opera classic THE MONKEY KING

· JAMES SUGG as the Pirate King from Penzance!

And that' s not all!

Our silent auction will go all night with three big prizes that will be live-auctioned during the show by our host Quinn Bauriedel, including a private party for thirty at Beau Monde serenaded by Martha Graham-Cracker and her band

All proceeds go to the non-profit Pig Iron Theatre Company, Philadelphia' s rascally & world-renowned theatre troupe, last seen in Cankerblossom, a dark fairy tale for children ages 9-90. Pig Iron combines the experimental, the whimsical, and the very good-looking for theatre that pushes your buttons and tickles your fancies.

NOTE: Get your tickets early; last year For the Love of Pig Iron: HAMS ACROSS AMERICA was a wild success that united a completely sold-out crowd in the pure joy of celebrating the lost theatrical form of the celebrity charity concert. While this year's cabaret has a different theme, there is no doubt it will produce the same warm fuzzy feeling that you can only get while drinking and supporting your favorite artists at the same time.

Show is 18+; attendees 18-21 will be seated in the balcony.
