Photo Flash: The Enchanting Musical THE SECRET GARDEN Blossomed In Newtown
Based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, this classic of children's literature is re-imagined in brilliant musical style by composer Lucy Simon and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Marsha Norman.
Under the direction of James McCrane of Newtown and music direction of Susan den Outer of Langhorne, the story of 11-year-old Mary Lennox, orphaned in India, tells of her journey to Yorkshire, England, to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle Archibald and his invalid son Colin.
Newtown Arts Company's enchanting musical just ended its run at the Newtown Theater. The show captivated audiences with outstanding vocals, emotional story-line and heartfelt performance.
