Star of the Day presents Sondheim's SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET, opening at McCoole's Arts & Events Place in Quakertown, PA, running May 6-21, 2016. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!
The shows director, Andrea Cartagena, is serving up a slice of intrigue and mischief in this fresh new take on this musical theatre classic. The show's stars Will Windsor Erwin and Aimee Conway are a match made in hell on the stage bringing Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett to life in the most gruesome of manners.
The show is made up of local actors from the Lehigh Valley, New York, New Jersey, and Bucks County that bring to life Sondheim's intentional macabre score. The simple set and intricate lighting design take the audience to dark streets of London where a barber sets out for bloody revenge.
The cast also includes Brady Love as Judge Turpin, Anna Lovallo as Johanna, Will K. Carey as Anthony, Stephen Krock as Tobias, Bobby Torres as Beadle Bamford, Cheryl Cusati as The Beggar Woman, Benjamin Ruth as Pirelli, John Corl as Fogg, as well as Carolyn Boulay, Alex Garrido, Melissa Gump, Luke Raso, Francesca Rhoads, Colin Smith, Nikk Tetreault, and Ben Yenser.
