One-Millionth Patron Surprised at the Kimmel Center Today

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts honored Paula Wagner of Mount Laurel, New Jersey as its one-millionth patron this season with a special presentation during the matinee performance of Disney's The Lion King on Thursday, June 11.

Kimmel Center President & CEO Anne Ewers surprised Ms. Wagner, a retired Spanish teacher, with a pair of 2015-2016 Broadway Philadelphia subscription packages, an introductory bronze membership, and a $100 gift card from the Kimmel Center's season sponsor, TD Bank.

In commemoration of the milestone, Ms. Ewers acknowledged Ms. Wagner's patronage to an audience of over 2,000 matinee patrons attending The Lion King, which closes the Broadway Philadelphia 2014-15 season on June 14. Watch the video to see Ms. Wagner's reaction!

"While every one of our visitors is special, we felt it was important to celebrate the one-millionth visitor to the Kimmel Center Campus this season!," said Kimmel Center President and CEO Anne Ewers. Ms. Wagner's introductory bronze membership status will earn her a 10 percent discount on select Kimmel Center Presents events and Broadway Philadelphia performances, access to the Member Services Hotline for planning her visits to the Kimmel Center, a special invite to a Member Appreciation Event with two free tickets for family to join the festivities, and discounts and special offers from neighborhood restaurants and shops.

Membership gifts help to support a diverse mix of programmatic and education programming, and ensures the Kimmel Center as home to nine Resident Companies. Platinum, gold, silver and bronze membership level benefits vary from advance purchase opportunities, 10 percent member discounts to select ticketed performances, Academy Gold - Broadway Philadelphia's VIP subscriber experience, concierge services, invitations to receptions, artist meet and greets, and more.

The 2015-16 Broadway Philadelphia season launches with the Philadelphia premiere of the national touring production of Bullets Over Broadway (Oct. 27-Nov. 1, 2015). The season continues with a variety of family-friendly performances such as Matilda The Musical (Nov. 17-29, 2015) and Pippin (Feb. 23-28), and exciting, new productions such as The Sound of Music (Mar. 15-20, 2016), Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Mar. 22-Apr. 3, 2016), and If/Then (Jun. 21-26, 2016) at the Academy of Music.
