The Media Theatre, Delaware County's only professional music theatre, welcomes two new staff members to its management team for the 2012-13 season.

Robert Towarnicki, a recent Villanova University graduate with a Masters Degree in Theater Arts, is the new Production Manager and Master Carpenter for the renowned music theatre company. While attending Villanova, he was involved with its Props Department, was a Stage Manager, and also appeared on stage.

As The Media Theatre's Production Manager, he will work closely with Artistic Director Jesse Cline and Executive Director Patrick Ward in maintaining show production staff and designer teams, while overseeing the theatre's production calendar and schedules.

"I am honored to have been chosen for this position," he said. "We have a wonderful design team in place, all with extensive knowledge and experience. This will be a memorable season."

Todd Craft joins the staff as the new Technical Director. Having worked professionally since 1990, he has been a Scenic Designer, Lighting Designer, and Technical Director across the nation from Florida to California. He started with the Barter Theatre in Virgina and has worked with Broadway designers and major flying effects companies.

"Being here at The Media Theatre with the terrific season we have lined up is going to be rewarding," he said.

Craft will bring his 'craft' to the stage as he will supervise and maintain each show's set construction, including watching over functionality, builds, and striking each set once a show ends its run.

Towarnicki and Craft will work cooperatively throughout the season, with their eyes on the vision created by Artistic Director Cline and supported by Executive Director Ward. "Theatre does not happen on its own, but is a team effort," Ward stated. "It is creative expression and a form of communication that is, realistically, grounded by finances, needs, and budgetary concerns. Todd and Robert have a combined well of knowledge that will move us forward and allow us to grow creatively."

Cline agreed. "Our season is already shaping up to be very popular," he said. "We are looking forward to entertaining audiences of all ages while expanding artistically. Robert and Todd are a great addition as we prepare for "Hairspray", "Dr. Dolittle", "Forever Plaid", and "Mame" starring Andrea McArdle. We welcome them to our team."
