Hamilton's Mandy Gonzalez to Perform a Holiday Sing-Along at Revolution Museum's New Hamilton Exhibit, Dec. 2

Gonzalez Will be Joined by Students from Philadelphia's Isaac Sheppard School

Sing along with vocal sensation Mandy Gonzalez, the Broadway star who is currently starring in the smash hit Hamilton: An American Musical as Angelica Schuyler, as she performs at the Museum of the American Revolution's new hands-on exhibit Hamilton Was Here on Sunday, Dec. 2 from 11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

For the song "Remember Me" (with verses in English and Spanish) from Disney's Coco, Gonzalez will be joined by a student choir from Kensington's Isaac Sheppard Elementary School (part of the POPS in Schools program).

Then, The Philly POPS' Singing Santa will arrive to lead the audience in a holiday sing-along, accompanied by a trio of musicians from The Philly POPS.

The event is free with regular Museum admission.

  • Don't miss Gonzalez perform as part of A Philly POPS Christmas: Spectacular Sounds of the Season! at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts from Dec. 1 - 22, 2018.
  • Visitors can explore the Museum's new hands-on exhibit Hamilton Was Here: Rising Up in Revolutionary Philadelphia, which highlights Alexander Hamilton's Philadelphia connections through playful games and activities.
  • Visitors can dress up in reproduction 1790s clothing, load a full-sized replica cannon, and design a coin inspired by early American symbols, among other activities.
  • Each activity seeks to inspire visitors to think about Hamilton's contributions to the founding of the United States and how they can carry these lessons forward as they face the challenges of citizenship today.
  • From 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., visitors can stop by an activity table in the Museum's rotunda to learn the art of paper cutting, "scherenschnitte," brought to America by German immigrants, and create paper ornaments inspired by artifacts in the Museum's collection to take home.
  • Gonzalez has starred in Broadway hits like In The Heights and Wicked. She recently released her debut solo album "Fearless" featuring a title track written by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
