He blurs the lines between genres, often mixing rock, soul, country, blues, and jazz to create a truly unique sound. Most recently, Scaggs released his album A Fool to Care, which rose to number one on the Billboard Blues Album chart.

Scaggs racked up three Grammy nominations in 1977 for Silk Degrees, earning the award for Best R&B Song with "Lowdown." Silk Degrees went five-time multi-platinum and rose to #2 on the US Charts. He was nominated again for a Grammy in 1988 for "Come On Home."

The 91st season of the State Theatre is now on sale to the general public following two weeks of the membership sales period. Scaggs follows the Oak Ridge Boys who kick off the season one week earlier on September 8th.
