Boz Scaggs began his career as the lead singer and guitarist of the Steve Miller Band in the late 60s before the success of his 1976 solo album, Silk Degrees, which produced hit singles such as "Lowdown," "Lido Shuffle," and "We're All Alone." He blurs the lines between genres, often mixing rock, soul, country, blues, and jazz to create a truly unique sound. Most recently, Scaggs released his album A Fool to Care, which rose to number one on the Billboard Blues Album chart.

Scaggs racked up three Grammy nominations in 1977 for Silk Degrees, earning the award for Best R&B Song with "Lowdown." Silk Degrees went five-time multi-platinum and rose to #2 on the US Charts. He was nominated again for a Grammy in 1988 for "Come On Home."

The 91st season of the State Theatre will be announced in its entirety on Tuesday, June 27th. Scaggs joins a limited number of performances that have already been announced. These shows include a conversation with John Cleese following a showing of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Alton Brown Live: Eat Your Science and Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood's Scared Scriptless Tour. Tickets for these shows are already on sale.
