B. Someday Productions Hosts A Salon at the Chestnut Hill home of Board President Marne Castillo

By: Feb. 01, 2010

On Friday, February 19, 2010 from 6:00-9:00pm B. Someday Productions will present a Salon at the Chestnut Hill home of Board President Marne Castillo. The Salon will be a fundraiser to help support the upcoming May production of GRAVEDIGGER: The Plays of Mark Borkowski. The address for the Happy Hour Salon is 35 Rex Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118 in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia. The cost for the fundraiser is a $20.00 donation and can be purchased at the door or in advance online at www.walkingfishtheatre.com. There is no handling fee.

In true Salon fashion, actors and playwrights will mingle with friends and family to support this cutting-edge theatre company. Actor/Playwright Mark Borkowski will speak in the parlor, actors will read scenes from his plays, Mistress Lynne will read tarot cards, and Monsieur Thujone of the Absinthe Drinkers will host the evening.

The actor and playwright, Mark Borkowski will speak about his growing up on the streets of Kensington in the 1960s and 70s and how it informed his playwriting. Scenes from his plays will be read including "The Mutilation of Saint Barbara" and "A Gravedigger's Tale," based on a real life gravedigger Mr Borkowski befriended in his youth.

Additional entertainment will include live harp music by Melissa Santangelo of The Oubliette Ensemble. The $20.00 ticket price will include hors d'oeuvres from local Chestnut Hill eateries, beer from Palm Imports and wine.

There will be several interesting items and services for raffle including a dinner and theatrical entertainment for up to four guests in your home with Artistic Directors of B. Someday Productions, Stan Heleva and Michelle Pauls, and free theatre tickets with a William Shakespeare impersonator (Philadelphia actor Mark Knight). All proceeds from the event will benefit B. Someday Productions, a 501-c-3 non-profit theatre company with residence at Walking Fish Theatre in Kensington.
