Argentine Dance Troupe Tango Fire Performs Philadelphia Premiere of Tango Inferno 1/30
By: BWW News Desk
Buenos Aires-based dance company Tango Fire returns to Philadelphia with the premiere of Tango Inferno: the Fire Within at the Merriam Theater on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 3pm. Choreographer and principal dancer Yanina Fajar leads ten torrid dancers on stage through the evolution of tango, from its red-light district origins in Buenos Aires to the elegant ballroom dance it is today. German Cornejo, 2005 World Champion of Tango, joins the group, along with critically acclaimed quartet Quatrotango, and Latin singer Jesus Hidalgo, eliciting an electrifying, seductive, passionate performance of this 19th century Argentine art form.
Tickets for Tango Inferno are $35, $45, and $65 and can be purchased by calling 215-893-1999, online at www.kimmelcenter.org, or at the Kimmel Center box office open daily from 10am to 6pm and later on performance evenings.
