Act II Playhouse presents the hilarious spoof Forbidden Broadway's Greatest Hits, created and written by Gerard Alessandrini, beginning on stage May 19. Directed by and starring Artistic Director Tony Braithwaite, Forbidden Broadway has already been extended until June 21.

In this long-running Off-Broadway hit, Broadway's greatest musical legends meet Broadway's greatest satirist in this hilarious, loving, and endlessly entertaining tribute to some of the theatre's greatest stars and songwriters.

In addition to Braithwaite, the cast includes Elena Camp, Jeffrey Coon and Tracie Higgins. Also onstage is choreographer and music director Sonny Leo.

Tickets for Forbidden Broadway at Act II Playhouse are $29-$40. Discounts are available for subscribers, students, groups of 10 or more, and seniors (65+). Tickets are available online at http://www.act2.org, by calling the Act II box office at (215) 654-0200, or in person at 56 E. Butler Ave. in Ambler. Press opening is Friday, May 22 at 8 p.m.

The Forbidden Broadway creative team includes Associate Director Matt Silva, Scenic Designer Adam Riggar, Lighting Designer Lily Fossner, Costume Designer Alisa Sickora Kleckner, and Sound Designer Larry Fowler.

"Forbidden Broadway is Saturday Night Live for musical theatre," Braithwaite said. "Like SNL, it pokes hysterical and loving fun at its targets - in this case the iconic tunes and performers we all know and love, like Annie, Les Miz, Barbara Streisand, and more!"
