This poignant and dark drama-comedy is running through March 7, 2010. Performances are at the Second Stage at the Adrienne Theater, 2030 Sansom Street. Tickets cost $18 - $22. Discounted tickets available for returning patrons through our "Repeat Offender" program.

Accomplished double Barrymore Award Winning actress Amanda Schoonover returns to New City's stage for the third time, with fellow Barrymore Award Winner Madi Distefano, who resumes acting after a brief hiatus, under the hand of rising new director Brenna Geffers, a recent Temple University MFA graduate, in a fine female triumvirate.

Crisp, clever, and just downright silly, this play is a lot of fun to watch. It also makes for a great date night, because it's only 1 hour and 20 minutes, including one 10 minute intermission. This play is lighter fare than previously seen at New City this season.

When the play debuted TIME Magazine heralded the work as "A lighter than air comedy" and the NY Daily News called it just "dandy" theatre.

An Off-Broadway hit, this two-character comedy takes place in the suburban New York kitchen of a model housewife, who is having a tough day: her husband is off on a weekend spree with his secretary and she can't get rid of her pesky new neighbor just arrived from Texas. Two housewives - one a picture-perfect model matron, the other a former cheerleader - learn lessons about life, love and their assumptions about each other when they form an unlikely alliance and improbable friendship. This long running play originally starred Susan Sarandon and Eileen Brennan in the 1980's in Greenwich Village.

Two young, sexy, witty and vivacious women encounter each other, each trapped and seeking their own paths out of restless lifestyles in their married smalltown existence in suburbia. Through the chance of a next door visit, they form a reluctant bond, overcoming cultural differences and the divides of New York and Texas. Enjoy their adventures and funny awakening through each other as they find renewed meaning in daily life and relationships. This play is about unexpected friendship between two women from widely different backgrounds. Set in Westchester, New York, worlds collide when uptight Maude meets her new neighbor, sexed-up Southerner Hannah Mae. Throughout this zany romp, the mismatched pair, fight, scheme, cheat, laugh and love.
