Open Stage of Harrisburg returns to the Sunoco Performance Theatre at Whitaker Center with some new additions to the Harrisburg family holiday favorite, Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL, adapted and by Edward Alsedek. Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL tells the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge's encounter with the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Through these encounters thousands of Open Stage patrons have learned the true meaning of the holiday season. The Quandel Group and Pyramid Construction Services are sponsoring the 2010 production.

This year marks Open Stage's eleventh annual presentation of Dickens' timeless holiday classic and Nick Hughes returns once again to his signature role of Ebenezer Scrooge. After 10 years at the helm of the adaptation, Don Alsedek has passed the directing torch to his wife and fellow Open Stage Founder, Anne Alsedek, who will take the helm and restage the production for the 25th Anniversary Season.

"We have the largest cast ever" says Anne Alsedek, who also serves as Education Director for Open Stage. "We have 33 local actors in the production. We are also making some extra special changes for this year's production, including using projections and adding more exciting costumes, music and choreography."

Gwen Alsedek will once again design costumes and Jim Woland will reimagine the set for this Silver Anniversary production. Nick Marino serves as lighting designer, TJ Boyer will musically direct, and the video projections will be designed by Marshall Hoskins.

Cast off the "humbug within" with an exciting new staging of Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL and catch the spirit of the Season. Meet Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, the three spirits and all the familiar Dickensian characters for a very merry time.
