THE CITY UNDER THE SEA Playing At Gran Teatro Nacional 2/9 - 2/24

THE CITY UNDER THE SEA is playing in Peru from February 9th to 24th, 2019.

In the city under the sea, with a libretto by Maritza Nuñez and original music by the composer Nilo Velarde, more than 70 members of the Children's National Choir participate, who will be the protagonists of this story: the mysterious children-choirs that live in the city known as Meriterras. These marine creatures are reborn every 25 years, to stay awake only for 37 hours.

Environmental pollution, however, has interrupted the process. The inhabitants of Meriterras are trapped in plastic bags and one of them has not awakened. In his eagerness to ask for help, Elis comes to the surface and meets Alejandra and Hugo, two children who together with a marine biologist and Uncle Nico will do everything possible to save them.

The National Choir of Children of Peru and the National Youth Symphony Orchestra Bicentenario participate.
