The Merrywell Is Bringing A Little Taste Of Tennessee To Perth

While Aussies are well renowned for their love of beer - in Perth we love our Jack Daniel's too! Lynchburg, Tennessee - the home of Jack Daniel's might seem a bit too far to travel and experience the authentic whiskey tasting experience, which is why Jack Daniel's is bringing a taste of the Deep South to Perth with the Jack Daniel's Barrel House at The Merrywell from 23 February - 9 April.

Over a six week period, the Jack Daniel's Barrel House will pay tribute to the distiller's barrel making tradition with an almighty celebration boasting crafted food and drinks, including the mouth-watering Jack Daniel's glazed ribs and smoked brisket with baked beans and corn bread paired with specially crafted drinks.

An action packed program of live music and entertainment will be served every Friday to Sunday, with local DJ duo Burke & Wills first in line to warm up the celebrations at the launch on Thursday, 23 February.

They'll be followed by NSW indie alt-rockers The Vanns, fresh from touring with some of Australia's hottest bands through 2016, who're sure to turn things up a notch with a pair of blistering live sets.

The Merrywell is Crown Perth's hero pub, renowned for its American-inspired dishes including Mac & Cheese Balls, Fish Tacos and Lollipop Buffalo Wings as well as substantial meals like the BBQ Ribs sizzle from the charcoal grill and its famed burgers and award winning steak sandwich.

According to General Manager of Food and Beverage at Crown Perth, Chris Harris, The Merrywell is a natural fit for the activation as it is home to American 'dude-food' with a twist.

"It makes perfect sense to turn Crown Perth's hero pub, The Merrywell, into the iconic Jack Daniel's Barrel House," he says. "It's our hero pub - and the relaxed atmosphere that we all know and love is as close to good old Southern hospitality as it gets. Mix that with our incredible food, which is a natural match for the whiskey flavours and we have created a truly bold, authentic Tennessee taste, right here in Perth."

Since 1866, Jack Daniel's has been made following the same time honoured recipe and process pioneered and perfected by Mr. Jack himself. The Merrywell is proud to be transformed into the iconic Barrel House and is encouraging all to come down and see what the Southern American fuss is all about.
