Kennedy Art Ball Experience Announced!

Following two years of sell-out success, the Kennedy ART BALL returns to the Art Gallery of Western Australia at 7:00pm on Saturday 26 May 2018.

WA's most immersive discovery event experience will bring a line-up of local and national music acts as well as its signature activations and installations to shock, entertain and delight.

Indie-pop group Architecture in Helsinki will take to the stage with their nostalgic party tunes for the first time in Perth in four years.

Described as a "rock and roll with a dash of boogie-woogie", local rockers from the wrong side of the tracks The Southern River Band will show ART BALL's crowd why they are renowned for their musicianship, stage presence and exceptional live performance.

Local music legend, Odette Mercy, has formed an 11-piece brass outfit especially for the Kennedy ART BALL. The Brass Cartel will also feature guest vocals by jazz queen Ali Bodycoat and vivacious front man of Soukass Internationale, Quentin Thony.

Local multi-instrumentalist and Fremantle-based electro-producer Ukiyo will spin his fresh brand of atmospheric electro featuring sassy jazz-pop vocalist Your Girl Pho.

Making her highly anticipated DJ debut, local stylist and girl-about-town Zara Bryson will be spinning tracks as Kennedy ART BALL's house DJ for the night.

Finally, electro-house trio The Potbelleez, will bring the party late into the evening with their nostalgic dance tunes.

Hosted by Perth's 'Crown Prince of Comedy' Joel Creasey, the evening's theme will be centred around A Window on Italy - The Corsini Collection, AGWA's current featured exhibition showcasing the Corsini family's private collection of Renaissance and Baroque paintings by Italian artists such as Bottticelli, Tintoretto, Caravaggio and Pontormo, on show for free at Kennedy ART BALL.

Kennedy ART BALL guests are encouraged to weave their way through the Gallery to discover a world of mystery, mythology and decadence at AGWA's annual flagship gala where the worlds of art, fashion and music collide.

"The beauty of the event is that there are so many different, unique experiences on offer, each amazing in their own right. It's about discovery. Once guests are inside the whole space belongs to them and they'll gravitate towards the things they love the most," said ART BALL Event Producer, Grant Capriotti.

Guests can take part in live portraiture sittings, nude life drawing or even confess their sins in The Confessional, with their secrets projected anonymously into the gallery. Be wowed by the Blonde Ambition Floor Show, Wearable Art installations, or epic finale by the West Australian Opera. Relax in the all new Koala Parlour, a bedroom lounge featuring multiple king and queen size beds, provided by Australian mattress brand Koala.

The evening's decadent edible experience will be provided by Comestibles Catering, who have taken inspiration from classic Italian foods and the Corsini family recipe book to curate decadent canapés, opulent grazing tables and delicious offerings in 'Little Italy' food stations. Premium beverages will be pouring all night, generously provided by Mumm Champagne, Campari, Aperol and AGWA's supporters Gage Roads Brewing Co and Juniper Estate Wines.

With an Avant Garde / Black Tie dress code, guests are encouraged to pull out all the stops, make a statement and dress to impress as they walk the red carpet into this exclusive gala event.
