It's been a big year for Amelia Ryan (Storm In A D Cup, Lady Liberty). Famous for her dazzling tales of debauchery, she's now found herself domesticated; as a brand new Mum! Her sequinned frocks are spew-rags and her fun-bags are functional. Sigh. Fortunately, she's no stranger to mess, late nights and the occasional vommie...so she's got motherhood in the (nappy) bag. Right?*cue panic. With her signature stamp of heart and hilarity (and her beautiful baby boy backstage), she'll take you from pregnancy to parenthood, and being up the duff to up all night, in this hilarious foray into The Family Way.

Jessie is an eight time FRINGE WORLD award winner, veteran jazz singer, blues dancer, and expert cheese eater. She is good at what she does. Especially the cheese eating. But in every show there's a critical moment where everything can go horribly wrong. In a more intimate show than she's ever performed before, Jessie shares some personal moments of life getting in the way and music rescuing her soul. From hilarious things audience members yell to songs that have changed her life, this soulful songstress weaves the moments of ruination, embarrassment, fragile egos and broken hearts into a story. Joined by some of Perth's best musicians, Jessie performs her most tortuous, satisfying, heartbreaking jazz and blues songs, along with original tunes written in moments of crisis and salvation.

31 JAN, 1-3 FEB @ 10:15PM · 55 MINS

4 FEB @ 8:30PM five Performances

Standard Standing Ticket $20

Winners of the 2017 FRINGE WORLD Music and Musicals Award, The Fairly Average Dance Band are bringing back their favourite night of nostalgia, nonsense, and tunes from the nineties and noughties! After taking home the award, the band took a long, hard look at themselves and decided that after a lifetime of poor decision making, one more bad decision might just make the perfect show. So they're doing it all over again. With mediocre intensity, this band of Perth's most talented musicians will be playing the music of their collective childhood on their second or third instrument of choice, resulting in a wildly ordinary evening of tunes, bad dance moves and other miscellany. Come down for a decidedly mainstream and unexceptional affair! The mediocrity of these productions knows no bounds. A rag-tag bunch of musical mates decided to play music with little integrity and no soul. But a heckload of fun.

There are songs for the swooning moonshiners, those inclined to wine, those frisky for whisky and some odes to our favourite friends, those tenders of the bar. In the dark, dingy corners and smokey recesses of the Golden Era of Swing, there are songs for all your favourite drinks, there is room for all your dirty deeds and time for you to unwind with a refined beverage. The team at the Ellington are putting together a specially crafted drink for the evening to match the theme, ask for a Filthy Gordon when you arrive!

Jessie is one of Perth's best known jazz & blues singers. Each show will be new and different, with Jessie taking suggestions from the audience for song ideas and themes for the evening. The night will also feature some reimagined jazz standards and a sprinkling of Jessie's original songs. Join her for a night that will be fiercely ad-libbed, recklessly inspired, and wildly unplanned.
