Adelaide Cabaret Festival Roadshow Comes to Port Pirie's Northern Festival Centre Ballroom in June

Adelaide Cabaret Festival Artistic Director Kate Ceberano, in association with Country Arts SA, is taking the Adelaide Cabaret Festival on the road. For one night only the Adelaide Cabaret Festival Roadshow will bring the sounds of cabaret to audiences at Port Pirie's Northern Festival Centre Ballroom on Saturday 1 June, 2013.

For the first time in its history, the Adelaide Cabaret Festival will engage regional South Australia by providing an entrée of what people can expect at the 2013 Adelaide Cabaret Festival ahead of the official Festival taking place. Patrons in the mid north will be able to explore the extraordinary and get a taste of the biggest Cabaret Festival in the World.

Hosted by the luminous Artistic Director Kate Ceberano the event will be an intimate showcase and feature a select number of 2013 Adelaide Cabaret Festival artists in a night of fun and frivolity. The special guest artists will be announced when the full program is launched next year.

Adelaide Festival Centre CEO and Artistic Director Douglas Gautier says "Thanks to Country Arts SA for partnering with the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, we believe this initiative is a terrific step in increasing regional attendances for the already hugely popular Festival with city dwellers. It also provides a chance for those in remote areas to see a superb mix of talent".

Tickets for five events within the Adelaide Cabaret Festival are already on sale, including the Variety Gala which has become THE event to open the festival. In 2013 as the Adelaide Festival Centre celebrates its 40th anniversary, the 2013 Festival features two Variety Gala events where patrons can rub shoulders and walk the red carpet and see highlights from international and local cabaret stars that will perform at the festival. Eddie Perfect stars in 'Shane Warne The Musical', whilst legendary Australian performer Tom Burlinson will set the stage alight performing the masters of swing in 'Now We're Swingin'. Internationals gracing the stage include Grammy Award winning jazz singer Cassandra Wilson and Tony Award winning actress and singer Idina Menzel famous for her roles in Wicked, Rent and Glee.

Performance details for the Variety Gala, Idina Menzel, Cassandra Wilson, Tom Burlinson and Shane Warne the Musical can be found at Bookings can be made at BASS BASS 131 246 or online at
