 OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today that its anticipated new drama series “David Makes Man” from Academy Award winner Tarell Alvin McCraney (“Moonlight”) and Warner Horizon Scripted Television will premiere on Wednesday, August 14 at 10 p.m. ETPT following the network's critically acclaimed drama “Queen Sugar” (Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ETPT).  The series premiere will be presented by Lexus with limited commercial interruption.

CBS All Access today revealed a first look at the highly anticipated return of Jean-Luc Picard in the upcoming original series, STAR TREK: PICARD.

Performances begin tonight, March 5, for Ruben Santiago-Hudson's powerful and touching solo play 'Lackawanna Blues' at the Mark Taper Forum. Produced by Center Theatre Group, 'Lackawanna Blues' is written, performed and directed by Santiago-Hudson with live music performed by Grammy-winning blues guitarist, composer and actor Chris Thomas King. The production will run through April 21 with the opening set for March 13 at 8 p.m.

The world premiere of Havana Music Hall at Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre in Miami is now on stage. The brand new original musical features Tony Award nominee John Herrera (The Mystery of Edwin Drood) and rising star Linedy Genao (On Your Feet!) headlining the all-latinx cast of nineteen performers. The limited engagement runs through November 18, 2018. Opening night is set for Friday, October 19.

In keeping with Drama Desk's mission, nominators considered shows that opened on Broadway, Off Broadway and Off-Off Broadway during the 2017-2018 New York Theater season in the same competitive categories.
