FLASHDANCE is currently on a national tour to more than 25 cities before heading to Broadway. Performances for the upcoming national tour of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation, begin January 1st and run through January 6 at Pittsburgh's Heinz Hall. At a recent press event, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl officially announced January 1st as FLASHDANCE day. Following the Pittsburgh engagement, FLASHDANCE will embark on a national tour to more than 25 cities in the next seven months with additional bookings to be announced soon. FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 smash hit movie that defined a generation, will arrive on Broadway in August 2013 with a theater, dates and casting to be announced. As previously announced, FLASHDANCE will launch a separate national touring company in January 2013 at the Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh, the steel town that serves as the musical's setting, and will continue to play over 25 markets in North America. Co-written with songwriter Robbie Roth, the single is about refusing to stay silent, standing up for what you believe in and making some 'noise' for marriage equality. Sparks will fly this year as the West End Premiere of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL explodes onto the stage at the Shaftesbury Theatre starting September 27, 2010. Tickets are currently being sold through February 26, 2011.
