2014 is upon us, which means that it's time to look back on all of the highs and lows that this past theatre season has brought. BroadwayWorld is wrapping up the year by tributing our favorite moments of 2013, and in this series, we're highlighting 13 of our favorite musical moments on stage in just 30 seconds. Digital entertainment curator FilmBuff recently released the rocking documentary BROADWAY IDIOT chronicling the momentous collaboration between rock and roll icons, Green Day and the 'Great White Way' to create American Idiot on Broadway. The Public Theater's production of the new musical LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, the second show of The Public's 2013 free Shakespeare in the Park season at the Delacorte, recently began previews on July 23. MURDER BALLAD, the critically acclaimed new musical which has been nominated for Best Musical by the Drama League, Outer Critics Circle, and Lortel Awards, will run through Sunday, September 29 at the Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street). Murder Ballad opened last night at the Union Square Theatre, featuring John Ellison Conlee, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Caissie Levy, and Will Swenson. TV: Lin-Manuel Miranda & Mandy Gonzalez Perform 'Empire State Of Mind' at AMERICAN SONGBOOK! Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook has returned to the Allen Room for its fourteenth season celebrating the diversity of American popular song. For 16 nights the series is exploring the best of the golden age of musical standards through to today's most dynamic songwriting. The series kicked off last night, January 11, with a concert by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The evening opened with a surprise appearance by his In The Heights co-star, Mandy Gonzalez, for a remix of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' Gotham anthem, 'Empire State of Mind'.

AMERICAN IDIOT began performances at the St. James Theatre on March 24, 2010 and opened on Broadway on April 20, 2010 to a great set of reviews! Here's a sneak peek at Broadway Beat's openight night coverage of the show!

Billie Joe Armstrong said goodbye to original cast members of AMERICAN IDIOT John Gallagher Jr. and Michael Esper, with a performance of 'Walking Out on Love.' All three gave their final performances last night. Check it out below!
