At Gypsy of the Year 2016, cast members from The Lion King performed a moving spoken-word piece giving voice to those marginalized by the current political climate performed by cast members Lamar Baylor, Kimberly Marable, Matthew Morgan, Brenda O'Brien and L. Steven Taylor. 

Broadway enthusiasts and stars alike flocked to New York City's famed theatre district yesterday for the 30th Annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction (#broadwayflea), produced by and benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The biggest day of the year for Broadway fans celebrated all things theatre with offerings of unique Broadway treasures, unforgettable theatrical experiences and more than 70 stars. BroadwayWorld.com was on hand for our favorite day and captured the many booths featuring Broadway shows, stars and industry organizations.

Below, watch as Broadway star Emily Skinner performs 'Hey There' from The Pajama Game, with Jim Hershman on guitar. Ms. Skinner will perform the song at Broadway Backwards, Monday, March 21 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York City.

KINKY BOOTS star Wayne Brady surprised today's audience at BC/EFA's 27th annual GYPSY OF THE YEAR competition with guest rappers Christopher Jackson and Lin-Manuel Miranda from this season's Broadway sensation HAMILTON. The trio showed off their improvisational chops, topping each other in a rap battle based on words provided by the audience, including chicken, sarsaparilla, succubus, tsunami, scaffolding and condom. Brady and KINKY BOOTS took top honors for best onstage presentation. Check it out below!

Broadway fans celebrated the 29th Annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction by bidding on and buying everything from tickets to a bevy of opening night performances to custom-made music mixes, from autographed musical phrases to once-in-a-lifetime theatrical experiences. The result: a record $756,655 was raised for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Craig, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Dan Fogler, Lisa Howard, Jose Llana, Jay Reiss, and Sarah Saltzberg - will reunite for a special one-night-only 10 Year Anniversary benefit concert on Monday, July 6 at 7:30pm at Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street). For the first time in 10 years, Broadway Bares creator Jerry Mitchell will return to the show's director's chair to helm what promises to be a scintillating and titillating 25th celebratory edition of Broadway Bares. Join Jerry and 200 of Broadway's sexiest dancers for two performances only on Sunday, June 21, at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom, located in Manhattan Center. Show times are 9:30 pm and midnight.

An amazing fundraising auction occurred at IF/THEN over the weekend when Idina Menzel offered audience members the chance to join her in singing “Let It Go” from the Oscar winning animated film FROZEN on-stage at the Richard Rodgers theatre, raising $4,800 for BC/EFA.
