Today, Richard talks to Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, producers of critically acclaimed and award-winning feature films, television movies, series and Broadway productions. The dynamic duo spoke to Richard Ridge backstage before being honored at The New York Musical Theatre Festival Gala earlier this month. It's official, NBC's new Broadway-filled series SMASH will premiere on February 6 at 10pm. The show, which is about a group of people who come together to put on a Broadway musical was developed by NBC's Robert Greenblatt, Steven Spielberg, and Broadway producing team Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Broadway's Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman - whose latest venture, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, is now running at the Neil Simon Theatre - wrote the music for the show. Michael Mayer directed the project, and playwright Theresa Rebeck penned the script.

On Sunday, November 6, stage and screen producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron were honored at the Eighth Annual New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) Gala by some of their most famed stars including Daniel Radcliffe - of the pair's hit revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying - and the company of the upcoming NBC series Smash, including Debra Messing, Angelica Houston, Megan Hilty, Christian Borle, Jack Davenport, Raza Jaffrey, Michael Mayer, Theresa Rebeck and more.

The show, which is about a group of people who come together to put on a Broadway musical was developed by NBC's Robert Greenblatt, Steven Spielberg, and Broadway producing team Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. A special benefit performance of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING on Thursday, October 6th raised $15,000 for THE TREVOR PROJECT. The performance featured a post-show talkback with star Daniel Radcliffe. A portion of every ticket sold for the October 6 performance was donated to THE TREVOR PROJECT, as well as all proceeds from a post-show auction featuring autographed HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING merchandise.

FOOTLOOSE stars Julianne Hough (who plays Ariel Moore) and Kenny Wormald (Ren McCormack) talk about their first experiences performing and how they expressed their creative talents in the new film!

The new film Footloose will be expanded into a 'full-blown movie musical' from the earlier film with songs. In addition to starring a young Kevin Bacon as Ren, Footloose also starred Lori Singer as Ariel. It was originally written by Dean Pitchford. A Broadway musical version of Footloose was previously staged in 1998. The remake will be released in theatres on October 14.

The soundtrack to the highly anticipated NBC drama series SMASH on Columbia Records will include an original song by SMASH leading lady and American Idol alum Katharine McPhee titled, 'Let Me Be Your Star'. The duet features SMASH co-star Megan Hilty.
