Green Day stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and discussed their show American Idiot as well as Green Day 1999 and their new Green Day rock band video game. AMERICAN IDIOT began performances at the ST. James Theatre on March 24, 2010 and open on Broadway on April 20, 2010. One day before the first performance of Green Day's American Idiot, Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced that it will extend the show due to record-breaking sales and unprecedented demand for seats. Originally scheduled to close on October 11, this hotly anticipated world premiere has been extended three weeks and will now play through Sunday, November 1.

Green Day, whose muti-platinum album AMERICAN IDIOT will premiere in a new stage adaptation September 4th at Berkeley Rep, have been honored with three 2009 MTV Video Music Award nominations. The Bay Area-based rock band's video for '21 Guns' - from their current gold album 21st Century Breakdown - has been nominated in the 'Best Rock Video,' 'Best Cinematography,' and 'Best Direction' categories. Green Day are scheduled to perform at the awards ceremony, which takes place at New York City's Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, September 13th.
