Just in case Jillian Mueller needs a new dance partner on the DIRTY DANCING: THE MUSICAL tour, I think we've found one. While he's not as tall as Samuel Pergande, he sure has the moves. Walnut Street Theatre continues its landmark 204th season with an all-new production of Broadway's five-time Tony Award-winning family musical, Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN. Directed and choreographed by Marc Robin, this production will feature Philadelphia's very own Jeffrey Coon and Broadway's Jennifer Hope Wills. The cast also includes a live horse that will pull the Wells Fargo Wagon in the first act. THE MUSIC MAN runs now through January 6th on the WST Mainstage. As previously reported, Stephanie J. Block will join the Tony Award winning company of Anything Goes performing the role of 'Reno Sweeney' while Sutton Foster is filming the television pilot, Bunheads, for 3 weeks beginning tonight, November 4. Block will fill the famed tap shoes though November 22. BroadwayWorld caught up with Block this week and was treated to a sneak peek of the star in costume as 'Reno'. Below, we give you glimpse!
On September 27, Roundabout Theatre Company celebrated their new cast album with an in-store performance and CD signing. Director Kathleen Marshall was on hand to introducer performers and stars Sutton Foster, Joel Grey, Colin Donnell, Adam Godley and Laura Osnes, who performed classics from the show and greet fans. As previously reported, Roundabout Theatre Company recently announced a new block of tickets now on-sale through April 29th, 2012 for their Tony-winning production of Anything Goes. It was originally scheduled to run through Sunday, July 31st, 2011. The production currently stars 2011 Tony Award winner Sutton Foster as 'Reno Sweeney' and Tony and Academy Award winner Joel Grey as 'Moonface Martin,' and is directed and choreographed by 2011 Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall.
