Yesterday, May 23, the company of Godspell celebrated their Academy Award-winning writer Stephen Schwartz in a one-night-only concert featuring songs from Schwartz's Pippin, Wicked, The Baker's Wife, The Magic Show, Working, My Son Pinocchio, Children of Eden, Rags, "Pocahontas", "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", "The Prince of Egypt", "Enchanted" and more. The 40th Anniversary production and first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's rock musical GODSPELL is currently playing at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre. Directed by Daniel Goldstein and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Christopher Gattelli, the show opened on Monday, November 7. This afternoon, the cast visited Barnes & Noble, where they treated visitors to a special performance and signed copies of the just-released album. BroadwayWorld was there and brings you highlights from the big event below!

If It Only Even Runs A Minute 8 was the eighth edition of this series of rare songs, behind-the-scenes tales, and inspiring photos from Broadway musicals that may not have been fully appreciated the first time around. The show features performances and stories from original cast members and writers of several of the featured shows.

The New Broadway Cast Recording of the revival of GODSPELL is being released digitally today, December 20, 2011 on Ghostlight Records. Produced by Stephen Schwartz, Michael Holland and Kurt Deutsch with Executive Producer Ken Davenport, the CD will be available in stores on Tuesday, January 31, 2012.
