The first episode of the new web-series Outside The Box is now up and running on YouTube. Episode one stars Beth Leavel, Melody Hollis, Barry Pearl, Sandy Rosenberg, and Brandon Uranowitz. Written and Directed by Bruce Kimmel.

Outside The Box is a new musical comedy web series about a very outré musical theatre group called Outside The Box. Each episode features an entirely new cast, save for one recurring character, the director of the group. Each episode features between one and three musical numbers. The first episode of six (comprising season one) will premiere November 6 on YouTube (the YouTube channel is outsidetheboxseries), with new episodes every two weeks.

San Francisco's American Conservatory Theatre is now presenting Armistead Maupin and Jake Shear's TALES OF THE CITY, based on the novels. First serialized in The Chronicle, Armistead Maupin's bittersweet novel 'Tales of the City,' is set in San Francisco and consists of interlaced stories of dewy-eyed newcomers and dissolute social climbers, gay coming-out stories and paisley-clad hippies. The story captures the era of the mid-'70s in San Francisco, complete with disco and drugs, fern bars and pickup night at the Marina Safeway, as well as feelings of hope, heartbreak, innocence and laughter. BroadwayWorld's own James Sims recently joined actors Judy Kaye, David Hess, Lauren Molina and Edmund Bagnell in the Ahmanson lobby to discover their own visions of Sweeney Todd and understand why Sondheim's work continues to remain popular nearly 30 years since first bowing on Broadway.

The national touring production of Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, will begin performances at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles beginning with one preview on March 11 at 8 p.m. and is set to run through April 6.
