Mary Poppins is set to fly over the rooftops of London and onto the stage at Stages Theatre Company this holiday season! Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins JR., based on the classic P.L. Travers stories and the Walt Disney film, is playing at Stages Theatre from November 16 through December 27, 2018.

With Mary Poppins Returns coming to movie theaters in a week, I thought the perfect  #TBT would be a look back at the Opening Night of Mary Poppins on Broadway. So I dove back into the BroadwayWorld archives and found the 2006 video (when we were formerly known as BroadwayBeat) with Ashley Brown, straight from starring as 'Belle' Beauty and the Beast on Broadway! And lets not forget Gavin Lee who made his Broadway debut with Mary Poppins.

On this day in 2004, Disney's Mary Poppins arrived at Broadway's magnificent New Amsterdam Theatre in a musical so extraordinarily enchanting, that audiences had just one word for it: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

The new West End musical THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS features Rufus Hound as the amazing MR Toad, Simon Lipkin as Ratty, Craig Mather as Mole, Neil McDermott as Chief Weasel, with Denise Welch as Mrs Otter and Gary Wilmot as Badger. On last night's WATCH WHAT HAPPENS LIVE, actress Kristin Chenoweth was asked by a caller whether the rumor is true that she will be starring in the musical adaptation of SOAPDISH in London's West End and her answer has us really excited!

Disney and Cameron Mackintosh announce casting for the 2017 performances of the international tour of their multi award-winning musical MARY POPPINS, which will play in Switzerland and Dubai in 2017. Following the current highly acclaimed run of the production at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, the new cast of MARY POPPINS will open at the Theater 11 in Zurich, Switzerland on Wednesday 1 February 2017 with performances until Sunday 19 March 2017. The production will then run at Dubai Opera in Dubai, UAE from Monday 1 May 2017 until Wednesday 18 May 2017.

Thanks to John Lewis, Mr Toad and the Wild Wooders have discovered trampolines and they can't get enough. Move aside Buster the Boxer!

Rachel Kavanaugh directs a new stage version of HALF A SIXPENCE a Chichester Festival Theatre this season, with book by Julian Fellowes and new music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, alongside original songs by David Heneker. The world's most beloved Nanny MARY POPPINS recently dropped in to The Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire. Broadway's supercalifragilistic, award-winning hit opened last night, October 30, and runs through January 5. Broadway star Rob McClure (Chaplin) returns to The Muny for the second time this summer as Bert in The Muny's production of Disney's MARY POPPINS. McClure appeared earlier this season as Farquaad in the theatre's production of SHREK: THE MUSICAL.
