This past weekend, Spider-Man helped celebrate fathers by offering a special Father's Day promotion- for those who swung by SPIDER-MAN and purchased one full price Orchestra or Flying Circle ticket, dad got his ticket for free. Eiko Ishioka, costume designer for SPIDER-MAN, is nominated for a 2013 Academy Award for her costume designs for Mirror, Mirror. Ishioka passed away last year after losing a battle with pancreatic cancer on January 21 in Tokyo. She was 73 years old. The upcoming SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off the Dark musical was scheduled to begin previews on February 25, 2010. Financial troubles and a makeover of the producing team has delayed the opening to an undetermined date next season. Auditions for the role of Mary Jane Watson (formerly held by Evan Rachel Wood) and for the ensemble were held in April. The production's home will remain at the Hilton Theatre.
