Drawing from over 40 years of Marvel comic books for inspiration, SPIDER-MAN spins a new take on the mythic tale of a young man propelled from a modest rowhouse in Queens to the sky-scraping spire of the Chrysler Building, the bustling offices of the Daily Bugle, through the dizzying canyons of Manhattan, to new vistas never before seen.

As we reported earlier this week, the upcoming Broadway musical 'SPIDER-MAN, Turn Off the Dark' looks to be caught up in the web of it's massive budget. On August 6th, Variety revealed that 'the extensive work being done to prepare for the technically demanding show, both in the shop constructing the physical production and in the theater where 'SPIDER-MAN' is due to open, is said to have stopped this week.'

The upcoming Broadway musical 'SPIDER-MAN, Turn Off the Dark' begins an American Express pre-sale today June 24th.

SPIDER-MAN, Turn Off the Dark, will open on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Broadway's Hilton Theatre, 213 West 42nd Street (preview performances will begin Saturday, January 16, 2010).

The Lion King currently is running all over the world, including New York, London, Hamburg, Paris, Tokyo and Fukuoka, as well as the North American National Tour.

SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, featuring direction by Julie Taymor (Across The Universe, Frida, The Lion King on Broadway), music and lyrics by 22-time Grammy® Award-winners Bono and The Edge (from U2), and written by Taymor and Glen Berger (Underneath The Lintel), held an open casting call Monday, April 13 (10 AM - 5 PM) at The Knitting Factory (74 Leonard Street) in New York City as part of an ongoing nationwide casting tour.

Both deaf and hearing actors sign and sing the magical musical comedy with book by Roger O. Hirson and music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Directed and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun, 'Pippin' continues performances through March 15. 'Pippin' is the captivating coming of age story about a young man's search for meaning in his life, as told by a lively band of troubadours in the Roman Empire. The episodic quest of Pippin, the son of the powerful Charlemagne, takes him through battlefields, orgies, revolution, and finally, love and domesticity, as he tries to find a place for his 'spirit to run free,' for his 'corner of the sky.' Roundabout Theatre Company's Broadway production of Christopher Hampton's Les Liaisons Dangereuses officially opened Thursday, May 1st. Laura Linney as 'La Marquise de Merteuil' and Ben Daniels as 'Le Vicomte de Valmont' star in Les Liaisons Dangereuses, directed by Rufus Norris at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street).
